Meet the coaching staff
Grant Moser (Head Coach)
Coach Moser is a 2006 SA graduate. He was named to the 2A All State first team his junior and senior year and All ACAC first team his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He played DT at Ball State University for 1 season. He teaches Business and Marketing at South Adams. He lives in Berne with his wife, Alyssa, and daughters, Harper and Olivia.
Scott Steiner (Defensive Coordinator)
Coach Steiner is a 2001 SA graduate. He is South Adams' all-time leading tackler. He was named to both 2A All State and All ACAC teams his senior year. He played four years of LB at Bluffton College. He teaches Title I at South Adams Elementary. He lives in Berne with his wife, Amber, three sons, Gabe, Grady, and Gerrick, and his daughter Graylynn.
Jeff Lehman (Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach)
Coach Lehman is a 2002 SA graduate. He was named to the All ACAC second team his senior year. He played OL 1 season at Bluffton College. He is a Health/PE teacher at South Adams and also coaches basketball and track at South Adams. He is heavily involved in Dots in Blue Water. He lives in Berne with his wife Katrina and daughter Indi.
Clark Moser (JV Defensive Coordinator and Varsity Defensive Line Coach)
Coach Clark is a 2007 SA graduate. He is a two-year letterman and was voted team captain his senior year. He is a Ball State University graduate and currently serving in an Administration role at The Crossing in Berne. He also spent a 3 year span of his life living and traveling to over 30 countries as a missionary. He is married to his wife Sarah.
Craig McKean (Pass Game Coordinator and WR Coach)
Coach McKean is a 1993 SA graduate. He was a first team All ACAC player and played on a Regional Championship team. He is South Adams' all-time career receiving leader. He played wide receiver at Bluffton College for 2 years. He teaches Math at South Adams High School. He lives in Berne with his wife, Erin and three children, Lauren, Adrienne, and Derek.
Heath Moser (JV Offensive Coordinator and Varsity Special Teams Coordinator)
Coach Hemo is a 2009 SA graduate. He was first team All State as a sophomore and junior as well as All ACAC as a sophomore and junior before tearing his ACL his senior season. He still managed to be the all time Sack leader in SA history. He currently is the Executive Director at the Boys and Girls Club of Adams Co. He lives in Berne with his wife, Jaci.
Tyler Sprunger (Defensive Backs Coach)
Coach Money is a 2004 SA Grad. He is a three-year letter winner and two-year starter at WR/CB for the Starfires. He played football and baseball at Bluffton College. He is a salesman at Perry Co. in Fort Wayne. He lives in Berne with his wife, Tiffany and his son, Corbin, and daughter, Lakely
Cal Clouser (Varsity Volunteer Coach)
Coach Clouser is a 2013 SA graduate. He was named first team All ACAC his senior year at LB and helped lead his team to a Sectional Title. He lives in Berne with his wife and former SA Manager (2016) Lara.
Toby Sprunger (Hudl Coordinator and Alumni President)
Coach Toby is a 1985 SA graduate. He played football and swam in high school. He is currently employed as an Insurance Agent at Graber Insurance. He lives outside of Berne with his wife, Amy, daughter, Izzy, and son, Cooper.
Lack Taing (Director of Football Operations)
LT is a 1985 SA graduate. He currently works at Moser Motors in Berne and lives with his wife, Melinda. He has three children, Tyler, Lily, and Hannah.
Andrew Disinger
Coach Disinger is a 2013 Boonville High School graduate. He played Fullback and Linebacker for the Pioneers. He is an English/Yearbook teacher at South Adams. He lives in Decatur with his wife Jess and his son Hayden.
Logan Dettmer
Logan is a 2014 graduate of Norwell High School. He played four years of HS baseball at Norwell, and they were the 2013 Class 3A state champions. Logan serves as Student Ministries Pastor at First Missionary Church-Berne and uses football to pour into the community and young men.
Jessie O'Dell
Coach O’Dell is a 1995 SA graduate. O’Dell played LB, OL, and punted. During his senior year he led the team in tackles. He currently, teaches Social Studies at South Adams. He lives in Berne with his wife, Jaci and his three children, Vivian, Grant, and Easton.
Marcus Teeter
Coach Teeter is a 2017 SA graduate. He was an All-Conference quarterback for the sectional championship team in 2016. He currently teaches math at South Adams, and coaches basketball and baseball as well.
